Arcos was part of the limits of Barcelos. According to the tradition, there existed, in this parish, a moorish castle on the mount with the same name, and on Reguenga Mount, a covered road that would lead to the Rio Ave.
At the archaeological level, you can locate the mound of Moldes and the Castro de Casais. That last one has traces of Roman and Pre-Roman periods.
Located north of Ave River, leaning on East River, belongs to the municipality of Vila do Conde since 1836, showing as ex-libris its Roman bridge, dating from the twelfth century and considered a Cultural Heritage Building. Even at the architectural level, highlighting the existence of several farmhouses scattered through the parish.
